The spirit of giving is alive and well at Semillas para una Nueva Humanidad. Each and every gift of time and resources is gratefully received and deeply appreciated. With your gift, you make a difference in the lives of all those who study, work, play, create and dream at our school. Our hope is that everyone who is part of the SNH family – current families, grandparents and friends– will consider a gift to our school. At the core of the work of the Development Committee is the building and nurturing of relationships with individuals, organizations and businesses who share our vision of educational excellence. Our community helps SNH continue to grow vibrantly. Like every non-profit, SNH needs the philanthropic support of the people who care about our programs and our school. In general, tuition covers the cost of our faculty and staff payroll. In order to cover operating costs and offer vibrant programs, we rely on gifts from our community.

Our Annual Fund allows the Board of Directors and Administrator to set tuition at a level that encourages financial diversity. The generosity of your gifts of time and resources makes a significant difference in the lives of our students and teachers enabling us to fulfill our mission.

Bohemia and Silent Auction

This is an adult-only evening event held with music and food twice a year. Parents, family, and community friends of the school are invited to purchase tickets to attend the event. There is a silent auction that consists of donated items from local artists and handmade projects from each classroom. All money goes directly to the school. This event is open to the public, and volunteers are always appreciated!

Annual Fund

By definition, the Annual Fund is money given to SNH that is spent in that same year. This fund drive provides resources for the school’s operating budget and is generously supported by current and past parents and grandparents. It flows directly into the operating budget to cover such items as tuition assistance, student programs, and services.

The Annual Fund allows our Board of Directors and Administrator to set tuition at a level that encourages financial diversity. Gifts to the Annual Fund directly impact the experience of our children now. Every gift is significant and represents your commitment to the school. Gifts may be tax-deductible and matched by your employer. Our goal for the 2014/15 school year is $15,000.

Volunteer Opportunities

Enrolling your child in a Waldorf School involves, to a certain degree, enrolling yourself, as well. You become part of an exceptional community. One of the best ways to experience this community is to volunteer to help with a festival, committee or special project. At SNH, the Board of Directors, Faculty and Staff, and parents work together in dedication to the physical, emotional, spiritual and intellectual development of children.

We rely on the generous support of dedicated volunteers who share their time and talent for many projects and festivals and committees at the school. In the enrollment packet there is a page to list the various ways that you may be interested in volunteering — try something new and meet new friends. We are blessed to be a community of families who actively contribute to the school in so many ways.
